　　小說寫的很真實(shí)，無論是歷史，宗教，手工藝，還是人的感情。雖然有關(guān)很多歷史我都不太清楚，穆斯林的宗教文化我也不甚了解，但是看完這書，就是覺得，很多東西好像就那么真真切切的放在面前，大到一個(gè)葬禮，小到一塊玉。

　　作者在后序中說，“我和主人公一起生活。每天從早到晚，又夜以繼日。我為他們的歡樂而歡樂，為他們的痛苦而痛苦。我已經(jīng)舍不得和我的人物分開。當(dāng)我把他們一個(gè)一個(gè)地送離人間的時(shí)候，我被生死離別折磨得痛徹肺腑。”然而故事中的人，還是要離開，一個(gè)又一個(gè)，排著隊(duì)似的，不緊不慢地離開。悲劇故事都不可避免的如此。

　　印象最深的是，韓子奇身處英國倫敦時(shí)給家里寄去的那封信。說是一封信，卻也只是簡單的一句話——“我們還活著。你們還活著嗎?”還活著嗎……在那樣一個(gè)戰(zhàn)爭動(dòng)亂年間，信竟然是這樣寫的，如此的問候，我心里一陣凄涼，一滴眼淚往下落。

　　在這本厚重的書里，可以看到兩代人的凄美愛情，看到愛情中的無奈和悲哀。有時(shí)候我們確實(shí)是愛著的，但也因?yàn)閻壑�，才�?huì)感到無奈，做出些傷到別人也傷到自己的事。
